Technical diving is scuba diving’s “extreme” sport, taking experienced and qualified divers far deeper than in mainstream recreational diving. Maybe it's time to discover the advantages of technical diving. Technical diving is marked by significantly more equipment and training requirements to manage the additional hazard this type of diving entails. Tec diving isn’t for everyone, but for you who want to go beyond the limits, it's perfect.
Technical scuba diving is defined as diving other than conventional commercial or research diving that takes divers beyond recreational scuba diving limits. It is further defined as and includes one or more of the following:
DSAT TecRec courses (PADI Tec department) provide the techniques and procedures necessary for diving beyond recreational dive limits. These are some of the most intensive, yet exhilarating, courses you'll find. We offer following courses: TEC 40, TEC 45, TEC 50, TEC 65, Trimix and TEC Trimix Diver . Technical diving isn't for everyone but if this type of diving appeals to you and you're willing to accept the risks, responsibilities and obligations, you'll find it one of the most rewarding dive experiences you'll ever have.
Anders Heegaard a PADI Platinum Course Director and his team will be in charge of your TEC training and also oversees all other GoPro courses. When committing to one of our GoPro packages you will receive huge extra discounts for TEC and Cave courses. That way everything can be done in-house and you get the best prices on your training, weather it’s GoPro or GoTec.
With this course you benefit from using trimix (a blend of helium, oxygen and nitrogen), and extend your depth range to dive to a maximum depth of 65 metres. You qualify to make multi-stop decompression dives that employ Enriched Air/Nitrox and oxygen for accelerated decompression, and any trimix with an oxygen content of 18% or more.
During the course, you
By extending your depth range capabilities, the PADI Tec Trimix Diver course takes you to the outer edges of technical deep diving, opening the door to pristine dive sites few divers – if any – ever see.
During the course, you
The first step of technical diving is PADI’s Tec 40 course. Here you will learn the basics for diving with double tanks. The course takes what you know from recreational diving and bridges it into technical diving.
You will learn to use desktop decompression software and dive computers to plan and make decompression dives up to 10 minutes of total decompression. The depth will not be deeper than 40 metres/130 feet. At the end of the course you will be qualified to use a single cylinder of decompression gas with up to 50 percent oxygen (EANx50) to increase conservatism to the required decompression.
Your PADI Tec 40 course training credits towards the PADI Tec 45 and Tec 50 courses.
The Tec 45 course starts where Tec 40 leaves off. It takes your training as a technical diver further and deeper into the ocean. It is the second sub-modular course in the full PADI Tec Diver course. The Tec 45 module covers the skills, equipment and planning needed to dive to a maximum of 45 metres/145 feet. The knowledge to plan and execute single and repetitive decompression dives using a single stage cylinder of EANx or 100% Oxygen to accelerate or add conservatism to the decompression stops There is no time limit of amount of decompression you can do. The course prepares you for any foreseeable technical diving emergencies. Once you master the these skills and procedures you’ll be ready to move into deeper technical diving
Builds on what you learned in the Tec 40 and 45 courses. The Tec 50 (formally known as Tec Deep Course) consists of five Practical Applications, and five Training Dives. You will as always be using double tanks for the back gas, plus two side-mount tanks with up to 100% oxygen for decompression. The Tec 50 course training takes three days to complete. With this certification you will be able to make multiple gas switches, extended no decompression dives, decompression stop dives and accelerated decompression dives using air, Nitrox or up to 100% oxygen to 50m / 165ft, using technical diving equipment and procedures.
Learn to dive Sidemount with GoPro Playa. This increasing popular gear configuration is suitable for all types of diving, open water, cavern and caves.
In our sidemount courses you will learn over 3 days how to safely dive with 2 tanks placed on your side horizontal.
Diving sidemount has many advantages such as:
